Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between normal and severe service?
Normal service is personal vehicles frequently traveling more than 10 miles at a time, outside of severe conditions. Severe service covers commercial or fleet use, excessive idling, frequent short trips under 10 miles, towing or hauling, and dusty conditions — if that’s you, use the severe interval.
Which AMSOIL oil gives the longest drain interval?
AMSOIL Signature Series Synthetic Motor Oil supports up to 25,000 miles or 1 year under normal service — it’s why Signature Series is our default recommendation, always checked against your OEM spec first.
Can I extend my oil change interval beyond OEM recommendations?
With the right full synthetic and, ideally, oil analysis to verify, yes. But we always start from your OEM spec and go from there — application matters, and we’ll tell you straight what’s right for your vehicle.
